Twelve of the twenty-nine riders competing in the Hôtel Byblos 1m25 class had a perfect first round. First to go in the jump-off, Belgium’s Eva Jennen jumped clear in a time of 34.48 seconds and went into the lead for a few minutes. But just for a few minutes, until the round of the impressive Laura Mathy, already the winner of the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez class yesterday with her grey mare Gantira. The young girl did it again this morning, with a very fast jump-off in 31.96 seconds, three seconds faster than her fellow countrywoman. After her performance, only the American rider Kerry Mc Kahill managed to go into second place, finishing her jump-off in 34.40 seconds. So Laura Mathy is continuing her weekend in the best way, thanks to this second victory. “I’m very pleased with Gantira! When I set off in the jump-off, I decided to give it my all, as I particularly feared my fellow countrywoman, Ines van Bosch, who is usually really fast. I’m delighted and I hope that tomorrow we’ll have a hat-trick!”
