This morning, women seized control in the ring of the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show in Ramatuelle. Three young lady riders monopolised the top places in the Opéra Saint-Tropez 1m40 class. The fast round of Dancing Queen JT Z, in a time of 33.37 seconds, with Belgium's Maartje Verberckmoes, just 19-years-old, allowed her to win ahead of her fellow countrywoman, Ines van den Bosch, 27-years-old (33.74 seconds). Spain’s Gabriela Roger Ibars, 24-years-old, completed the line-up as a result of her time of 34.94 seconds. The young Belgian lady rider, who is here at Pampelonne Beach for the second year in a row, has got off to a great start in the CSI2*, since she was also sixth with her second horse. “I am delighted by this win. I was a bit stressed as I’m not used to going fast with Dancing Queen. At the beginning of the round, I wondered whether I was going to go fast or not. But as she was jumping really well, I told myself I should go for it! I really like coming to Ramatuelle, because it feels like we’re on holiday. We can ride our horses and then take advantage of the beach and admire the top riders competing in the CSI5*. My parents also really like this show, so everyone enjoys being here!” said the young woman after the class.
