CSI 5* - Ramatuelle - L’Essence du Sud Class – Julien Epaillard and Calgary Tame set the pace

They haven’t been competing together for very long but they perfectly understand each other. In the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show’s first 5* competition, the Ramatuelle - L’Essence du Sud Class, France’s Julien Epaillard with Calgary Tame, a nine-year-old stallion entrusted to him by Eugénie and Cédric Angot since the beginning of the year and in whom the rider has high hopes, were the winners in a very fast time which is his speciality.

In a time of 26’66, they unquestionably unseated one of the Longines Global Champions Tour’s star combinations, Simon Delestre and Chesall Zimequest, in the lead in the provisional line-up before Julien competed and who went down to fifth place in the end (28’24).

Spain’s Sergio Alvarez Moya on Kardenta van’t Meerhof finished in second place and didn’t manage to unsettle the Norman rider, nor did the other Norman rider in the class, the incredible Edward Levy with Uno de Cerisy, who finished his round in 27’58 and came third.
