Laura Mathy Claims First Class of the Day for Belgium
01-06-2018

Belgium’s Laura Mathy felt the need for speed on Friday in the 1.40/1.45m Prize Nikki Beach, where she and the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare, Penta, cruised to the first win of the day on a time of 58.09 seconds.

Great Britain’s Cressy Neads’ time of 58.26 seconds earned her second place with Lordanos Junior; Neads also placed sixth with her second horse of the day, Chinta van Geluut Z. A very close third went to Belgium’s Camille Demolie and Baccarat with 58.28 seconds.

Mathy has been paired with Penta since 2015. The two were part of the silver medal-winning Belgian team at the 2017 FEI European Young Rider Championships in Šamorín, Slovakia.
